I contracted M Relocation to move my belongings roughly 18 miles.
I was quoted a rate of $79.00 per hour and 3 hours of moving time, 1 hour of travel time.
The movers arrived late to pick up my belongings and spent a considerable amount of time talking on their cell phones and joking around instead of loading my items on the truck. When they finally finished loading and driving to the new apartment they sat in their truck for the remainder of the "travel time" (around 30 minutes).
When they finally went upstairs to the new apartment they told me I had to pay them in cash or money order the balance of the move cost and they would not begin to unload the items until the balance was paid PLUS they would continue to charge me the hourly rate. I called the office and spoke with Rebecca who charged my credit card the remaining balance according to the quoted amount.
They finished bringing the items up at exactly 4:00 which was the time I was quoted and left. I went downstairs to get some things out of my car and when I got back into my apartment one of the movers was INSIDE my apartment waiting for me! He said the owner of the company is charging me an additional $89.00 fee for the travel time back to their warehouse and I had to pay him in cash or he would call the police. I told him I would not pay a penny more than the amount agreed upon for the services/time agreed upon and told him to get out of my apartment before I called the police.
By the time I got downstairs they had blocked my car into the parking space with their truck and said they were calling the police to press charges. The police came and told them they needed to leave - it is a civil matter, not a criminal one and there was nothing the police could do. That evening the owner of the company called me at least 25 times yelling and screaming at me and demanding that I pay the additional money. The next day they charged my card the $89.00. Needless to say I did a charge back for the full amount.
DO NOT USE M RELOCATION!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS WHO WILL MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO SWINDLE YOU OUT OF MONEY!
